We sat down quietly to chat with Edgar Mendoza

Without a doubt, his definition is loyalty, commitment, dedication... wholeheartedness. His professionalism is excellent. Today, we learn a little more about this Paraguayan who lives in the Dominican Republic and manages the administration associated with the sale of Larimar City & Resort.

We asked him...

for his journey leading up to the project. With a warm, affable tone and a peace that fills you, he tells us simply, but with great detail, how he arrived in the Dominican Republic with a constant work ethic. He has worked tirelessly all his life because he can't conceive of working without giving his all. And that's why we're launching this series of more extensive and personal interviews with him, as he's one of those people on the team who makes you feel like family when you're away from home. He's a family in the Dominican Republic.

He tells us how, little by little, he has been fulfilling his professional dreams, the result of clear goals and firm objectives. In his home country, he worked at a public company where he remains a great friend, and he also worked in a family business, where he learned the ins and outs of how people work and the needs of businesses. That's why, when he sees something pending, he just does it, even if it means a heavier workload. He can't imagine doing it any other way.

It was thanks to a brilliant woman - this is how he describes her -

who learned about the project. Claudia Jara, his wife, had been working at CLERHP since 2016, always in the accounting department, at the company's Paraguay office. Eager to go further and seeing in the multinational an opportunity they had been seeking for some time, they accepted the challenge, even if it meant leaving their family far away. In 2023, our CEO threw down the gauntlet to Claudia, who, naturally, consulted Edgar. His response, in typical fashion, was: "Did you say yes?"

We looked at each other and laughed—as always—because their gaze was so conspiratorial. They're very family-oriented people, but they decided to leave their comfort zone, move to the Dominican Republic, and start over. Their goal: to grow not only professionally, but also as individuals. They're both passionate about continuing to learn and develop—not just themselves, but also their teams.

We asked him about his beginnings in the project and if he had been in administration from the start. He confessed no: first he was in accounting, but always with the desire to help more. Two people on the team thought he could be useful in launching a new department: sales. That's how he began combining both roles... although he never returned to accounting. The reason, although he doesn't say so, is that he became indispensable. Today he coordinates several people to ensure that all the documentation for each sale and its follow-up is impeccable. It's not just perfectionism, but a passion for helping colleagues and the development of the company.

His humanity goes beyond. Many of us agree that his dedication is always "a little bit more," a result of his sense of responsibility and commitment. He speaks with admiration of our CEO, Juan Andrés Romero, and how he makes us part of the creation of this great company. "If they give you trust, they give you responsibility," he says. And his way of showing gratitude is by giving his all.

His schedule is driven by the frantic pace of sales, but we never see a bad face in his face. He always makes time to greet everyone, smile, and dedicate a few minutes to his team for a leisurely chat, listening to their hopes and aspirations. He's moved by the efforts of his colleagues who juggle family, work, and studies, although he forgets to acknowledge his own merit. He's always encouraging those around him, always cheerful, always with that special light in his eyes. He seems tireless... or at least he never lets us know that. At his side, Claudia, keeping up the same pace with the same attitude and smile.

Before saying goodbye, he tells us that for those of us who are far from our homeland and family, coworkers become family. And that's true: he's the best family anyone can have, not just outside the home, but at any time. Always close... he's where we'd all want to be, along with Edgar and Claudia. We can't talk about his professional side without mentioning his personal charisma: a leader for us all.
Perhaps that's what Edgar likes most about the company: knowing he's part of something bigger, bigger than himself. A project that involves people, dedication, and love. Just as he experiences it every day.

Thank you, Edgar, on behalf of the entire team, for always taking care of every detail. Yes, you're an important part of all of us, and of our guests too. Edgar, the best ally for Larimar City & Resort.
