My name is Eduardo Mesas. Nine years ago, just turned 9, with an architecture degree under my belt, and a helmet bigger than my experience, I headed to Bolivia. I left my comfort zone behind to dive headfirst into a new country, with different ways of working, new cultures... and also new heights (literally). My first visit was to an 80-meter tower, where we were already executing the roof on the 20th floor.Between shots and a bit of vertigo from the wind that was blowing that day, I understood that something big was beginning.
For the first six years, I focused on the customer acquisition and technical assistance on site, learning from the ground up what it means to provide real support to the field team. And also what it means to eat with blueprints on the hood of the car and resolve technical details with limited WhatsApp reception and Skype meetings with the rest of our colleagues in Spain. But we learned a lot. A lot.
I remember with nostalgia—and the occasional dark circle—observing how the events were carried out. night crane mounting and telescoping, checking rebar under the spotlight or with a cell phone flashlight where the light didn't reach, and developing cost-effective proposals while the concrete continued to flow. It was demanding, but also addictive. That mix of technique, pressure, and rock 'n' roll is what hooked me... and still does.
Over time, my role evolved and today I divide my activity between Spain and Dominican Republic , the technical-commercialI accompany our clients from the first "Hello, nice to meet you" to the closing of the contract and the follow-up of the work, answering questions, proposing solutions, and, above all, building relationships of trust. Because if there's one thing we value at Clerhp, it's having a client call us again: Repeat customers are the greatest recognition of a job well done.
Today I try to put all that knowledge into Larimar, with a global approach: Optimize designs, control costs and provide effective technical solutionsIt is exciting to be part of a project that not only builds homes, but is also creating a new city, where every decision is thoughtful, agreed upon, and contributes in the right direction.
And of course, I can't close without thanking the Larimar management team for trusting me when I was just starting out in my career and still struggling with some Excel formulas. They've supported and guided me throughout all these years. I'm aware of the time they've invested in my training, and I only hope to continue repaying all that effort with hard work, commitment, and—why not?—a few laughs along the way.
Thanks for these 9 years. And here's to many more to come... with a tighter helmet.
