Who is Esther Cumella?
Well, it's hard to talk about myself, but I'm an empathetic and communicative person, which I think creates a good vibe at work and outside of it. I'm very organized, in a German way, to the point where I like to have everything under control.
I've always adapted to life's different circumstances, living in small cities and very large ones, in cities with lots of sun and heat, and also in others with rain and darkness. And each of those cities has left something in me, has impacted me in a positive way. I am who I am because of having lived all these diverse experiences, because I'm a huge fan of traveling and experiencing new cultures, different ways of working, the humor of each place, and the food from each of those places. All of this has contributed to my personal growth, leaving what they call "the comfort zone" on many occasions. With all of this, I've been able to face new challenges and goals both professionally and personally, building my great team, "called family," for me the best in the world, especially with the arrival of the greatest joy of my life, my little one.
What is your role within CLERHP?
I work in the accounting and finance department of the CLERHP group. I'm responsible for the group's parent company and some of its subsidiaries, and I'm also responsible for coordinating intercompany balances with the Dominican Republic accounting department. These balances must then be consolidated in the semiannual audits we submit as a company listed on the BME (Mexico City Stock Exchange). Ultimately, this means a lot of work involving organization, communication, coordination, analysis, and ongoing execution among group companies. And, both personally and professionally, this has greatly contributed to my growth within CLERHP.
Basically, and in short, I'm responsible for the company's financial management and ensuring that the company maintains good financial health and complies with regulations.
What was it about Larimar City & Resort that you loved?
Well, I joined Clerhp more than seven years ago to internally design the finance department, which until then had been outsourced to a financial consulting firm. Being there to coordinate all of that from the beginning and help structure it was an opportunity that I'm incredibly grateful for now, looking back. Because getting someone to trust you to do it isn't easy.
The growth and change we who work here have experienced since then is amazing. I feel, both personally and professionally, very proud to be part of this project, which has brought Juan Andrés's vision and has helped the company to where it is today.
And the greatest example of all, I think, is Larimar City. It's not just a development; it's a city in the middle of paradise, where green spaces and energy efficiency are prioritized in a way that's sustainable for the environment. It's a beautiful place with incredible views, offering leisure, sports, and health, with artificial beaches, an infinity pool, a promenade, and restaurants where you can watch beautiful sunrises and sunsets. I suppose I'll be like everyone else here: eager to see the first building built and what life is like there.
