I'm a Building Engineer and have always defined myself as a woman of character and a perfectionist. For as long as I can remember, I've dreamed of being involved in the building construction process, and thanks to hard work and perseverance, I've managed to get here, with the intact desire to continue learning and growing every day.
My story at CLERHP began almost eight years ago, when I received a job offer that involved moving to Bolivia. I'm not entirely sure why I decided to accept that challenge, but today I can proudly say it was the best decision of my life. I still remember my arrival in La Paz, when the breathlessness at 4.000 meters (13,000 feet) mixed with the uncertainty of looking for someone at the airport with a sign with my name on it. That was the first of many experiences that would shape my personal and professional life.
In Bolivia, my role was to resolve issues regarding the execution of structures, act as a liaison between the Spanish Technical Department and the resident engineers, coordinate modifications with clients, and maintain financial control with subcontractors and clients, always ensuring compliance with the signed contract.
Later, I had the opportunity to work in Spain, in the offices of the Technical Department. It took me almost two years to delve into structural calculations and gain a deeper understanding of the work that goes into an execution plan. It was a very rewarding time, but my desire to travel returned, and CLERHP offered me another opportunity: Paraguay. There, I was able to be closer to the construction site, make changes directly to the plans, and provide immediate solutions without the time difference being an impediment.
Today I'm fortunate enough to be able to travel to the Dominican Republic, where my work focuses primarily on the financial oversight of all projects. This experience continues to challenge and teach me every day.
On a personal level, my time in Bolivia, Paraguay, and now the Dominican Republic has completely transformed me. I could list a long list of lessons learned, but if I had to summarize them, I'd say I'm now a much more self-confident, courageous, and independent person. And most importantly, I've learned to value and love every aspect of my life.
What I enjoy most about being part of CLERHP after so many years is feeling like part of a big family. It thrills me to know that with my work I'm contributing to something great and that I'm surrounded by valuable people, from whom I learn every day and who inspire me to continue growing.
This is my story at CLERHP: a path full of challenges, lessons learned, and experiences that have made me who I am today.
